About LCWoodworks

Lancaster County Woodworks and this web site were created for two reasons. Several years ago, my Golden Retriever, Sebastian (Sebo for short) passed away from stomach complications. His stomach detached from the wall lining and turned inside of his body. The blood flow to his stomach was cut off and the majority of stomach cells died. After rushing him to the pet hospital here in Lancaster, the veterinarian performed surgery to try to staple his stomach back to the wall. Unfortunately, too many cells died (approximately 60% of his stomach) and Sebo could not be saved. This all transpired over a 3 to 4 hour period. Obviously, my family was distraught about our loss.

It was about a year later, after we got our current dog (also a Golden - named Scooby, by my son), that I began to research proper feeding and the importance of using raised or elevated pet feeders. The first reason for starting this web site is to provide links of information and pet products for anyone who is interested.

The second reason for creating this site was my frustration in finding a raised pet feeder of my liking. I was looking for a wooden pet feeder that was both durable and stylish. I wanted a feeder that looked like furniture and not some plastic or metal contraption that doesn’t fit in with the design of our home. Most of the raised pet feeders on the web, specifically wooden pet feeders, fell into two categories, both at opposite ends of the spectrum. On one end, the feeders looked cheap and inexpensive. Their styles ranged from a couple of wood boards nailed together in the shape of a bone to feeders that looked like miniature wooden scaffolding or boxes. I suppose that some people like this look, but not me.

On the other end of the spectrum are feeders of, I’ll say “unique” design, and also feeders of significant cost. There are exotic wood feeders, contemporary design feeders, a large variety of automatic feeders, plastic feeders, hand-painted feeders with names and pictures of generic pets, iron feeders, adjustable height feeders, and so on and so on… Needless to say, there was very little that I could find which suits my traditional taste. So, I decided to design and create my own line of wooden raised feeders.

Our mission is simple – we wish to produce stylish and durable raised wooden feeders at a reasonable price for our customers. Here at Lancaster County Woodworks, we believe in our product so much that we guarantee your satisfaction. If for any reason, you would like to return your feeder for a refund, send it back to us in unused condition within 30 days from receipt of the product (guarantee does not apply to custom style, finish, or sized feeders – see Returns Page for details). No questions asked, we will refund your money. We believe in our product, and feel that you will be extremely happy with your purchase.

We would love to hear from you. If you have a suggestion of a different style feeder, any questions, or would like to comment about Lancaster County Woodworks, please email us at:  CustomerService@LCWoodworks.com
